      <image:title>About Mark</image:title>
<image:caption>I am a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Coombe Women and Infants University Hospital in Dublin. Over my career I have worked at leading clinical and academic centres in Ireland and completed a Fellowship at Columbia University in New York City. I have a wide range of experience in the management of all types of pregnancy and gynaecological problems. I am committed to creating a safe and relaxed environment around the time of labour and delivery. In 2012 I was chosen as the first Fellow in Labour Ward Management, in the 120-year history of the National Maternity Hospital. This unique experience confirmed my beliefs in supporting patient choice while at all times ensuring the safety of both mum and baby. As the lead clinician at the Leaf Clinic at the Coombe, I strive to provide care, support and treatment to those patients who have suffered the heartbreak of miscarriage and as well as loss later in pregnancy. I am deeply committed to research and am the author of over 100 scientific publications in medical journals including the Lancet, JAMA, and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I live in Clontarf with my wife Jennifer who is also an Obstetrician and our three children Elliot, Pia and Georgia.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Ovarian cysts may occur in women of all ages and are usually non-cancerous. Some will spontaneously resolve however some persist and may cause pain and pressure. I can provide treatment which includes close surveillance with ultrasound or removal of the cyst or the entire ovary using minimal access surgery. Before any surgery we will discuss your options and wishes to retain future ovarian function and fertility.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Gynaecology - Pelvic Organ Prolapse</image:title>
<image:caption>After completing their family some women may suffer with a feeling of vaginal pressure or pain. This may be due to pelvic organ prolapse and occurs when the muscles and tissues supporting the pelvic organs (the uterus, bladder, or rectum) become weak. Many women are embarrassed to talk to their doctor about their symptoms or think that their condition is normal. But pelvic organ prolapse is treatable with either surgical and non-surgical intervention. I will be happy to work with you to relieve your symptoms.</image:caption>
